Bali and Indonesia are known for it´s delicious gastronomy rich in flavours and variety. A gastronomy where rice is a main dish made with many different types of condiments and spices, for a different taste each time. The restaurants in Bali are an experience that you mustn´t pass by, it is truely a treat for the taste buds. Rice with an infinite number of different sauces, sweet or salty, with hundreds of different combinations. Rice is definately the main ingredient in the Bali gastronomy. The rice is also combined with fish and meat dishes that are also delicious. You can have grilled, baked, dry or fried meats and fish accompanied with many different types of rice dishes and vegetables.
When it comes time to eat in Bali you have two options. You can visit the traditional and typical restaurants in Bali called Rumah Makan or the street vendors called warung where you can also taste delicious stews cooked in the street right in front of your eyes. In the markets you can also taste marvelous dishes.
In the Bali gastronomy we must mention an important dish called Nasi Goreng, elaborated with rice, coconut milk, lentels, and soy sauce with vegetables and beef stew. Nasi Campur is another dish served cold, or Gado with vegetables.
In Indonesia Bali you´ll find oriental dishes, chinese food, international food whether it be European or American as well as a great variety of tropical fruits for delicious juices. It is recommended that you do not drink the water from the tap. |
